Ragdoll Annie from Lovable Amigurumi Toys

This is Ragdoll Annie from my book Lovable Amigurumi Toys. She is a bit vintage, she is Scandinavian style, and she is inspired by the dolls our grandmothers used to play with.

To me, Ragdoll Annie is a very special doll. She is related to Rag doll cat, and Ragdoll Princess that was created somewhat later. As you can see, I´m really keen on this ragdoll thing, so there probably will be coming more related designs in the future.

Annie has this flat body shape. The head and body are made in one piece. Later you will add arms and legs, and the yarn hair wig.

Have you tried making Waldorf type yarn hair? I adore this method. It`s definitely not the safest for babies, but absolutely gorgeous for bigger doll lovers. For Annie, I´ve made two wigs – one for the hair, and small one for the bangs. I used cotton, but different yarn types give amazingly different results, so it`s like never endless possibilities.
