On the last week of October I made a Treasure the Teddy in night sky blue color. Well, at first I planned a little different color, but then I reminded myself a promise not to buy new yarn for this challenge, so I decided to dig in to my yarn stash.
I used sea green (mix 50) of Drops Karisma and find it a gorgeous color. It was bought to crochet a sweater for myself which I never completed… :(
I combined the yarn with a black polka dot fabric got from my grandma who passed away less than a year ago in the age of 96. It reminds me of my childhood and a specific doll she had made clothes with the same fabric. I think these dear moments make our handmade toys so much more valuable. They get an entirely different meaning.
Have you used your kids old clothes or other fabric meanful to you? How was your experience with it?
If you need guidance of how to use fabric on a crochet toy look at this tutorial I´ve written about adding fabric to amigurumi.
