US – half double crochet (hdc)
UK – half treble (htr)
Half double crochet stitch is similar to double crochet, but as said it`s a bit shorter. If you want to begin a row with half double crochet, make sure you chain 1 or 2 stitches to get the correct height.
1. Yarn over hook and insert the hook in the next stitch.
2. Yarn over hook and pull through the stitch. You have 3 loops on hook.
3. Yarn over hook and pull through all 3 loops on your hook.
The first half double crochet stitch is completed!
