Are you preparing Christmas gifts for your loved ones already? I just wanted to share some photos of Martin the light-hearted snowman with you. If you are searching for a crochet snowman pattern, or Christmas gift ideas for kids then this might be it.
Along with a couple of other Christmas-themed amigurumi patterns, the snowman is also included in my book Lovable Amigurumi Toys. Or if you`d like to have a downloadable pattern to use on your computer then here`s the link to my shop. The online pattern is available in English, Dutch and German.
This is an intermediate skill level pattern. You will need only single crochet. Even the scarf is made with single crochet only. However, making the branch-like hands is a bit tricky and I wouldn`t recommend it for complete beginners. But for those who already some previous experience with amigurumi, this should be a fun design to work on.
Although the climate change is affecting our life too, here in Estonia we normally still have winter with snow. Though the period of snowy weather has become much shorter than it used to be when my parents were kids. Still, skiing, sledding and making snowman is quite natural for us. And it`s definitely something that kids are desperately waiting for.
I wanted my snowman to be as lifelike as possible. Just like a snowman that could stand in our garden in the winter. So he has a bucket on his head, a nose of a carrot, charcoal buttons, and branches as arms.
Now, who wants to crochet their own snowman?
