Let me introduce you to my new crochet peace dove.
Life is full of surprises, and some of them are not not happy. On the 24th of February 2022, while we in Estonia woke up to celebrate the 104th birthday of our country, the war started about 1200 km away, in Ukraine. Estonians have been devastated since then. We share a lot of common with Ukrainians in the history basis, so we felt extremely bound with their situation.
My nieces are drawing pictures in yellow and blue, with hearts, flags, and bombing airplanes. I guess everybody are expressing it in their own way. I started crocheting a peace dove, because I felt that`s what the world needs right now. I turned it into a bird with a heart and some wooden beads. Something you can decorate your home with.
Hang it on the window to remind yourself how lucky you are to be here today. And how grateful we need to be for those who have sacrificed their life to make this world a better place for us.
Want to make some peace doves, too?! I have written a free pattern which you`ll find here.
