Here`s an amigurumi Easter bunny with a carrot. It`s made with my Candy Bunny pattern, but as you can see I´ve skipped the small dots on the body. Instead I added a cute mini carrot that`s now available in my free patterns.
A little crochet carrot is something you can add basically to any bunny to make it even cuter. I like to sew the carrot between the arm and body, almost as if the bunny is holding it.
In the pattern I used cotton yarn for the bunny. This time I replaced it with a woolen blow yarn (Drops Air). I love it so much! It`s the softest bunny I´ve ever made, not to mention the beautiful color and texture. The yarn is so pretty I decided the dots on the body would be an overload. So I crocheted a little carrot instead.
One more great thing about the yarn is that I only needed one skein to complete the whole toy. So if here`s anyone looking at the photos and deciding to make their own bunny, then you`ll know you can complete this with one ball of yarn.
The bunny pattern can be tricky. While it only uses single crochet and preparing the body parts can seem easy, it`s actually the sewing that makes it a bit more complex. The final shape is achieved with the right positioning of the legs and arms, and that might require some earlier experience.
The height of my bunny is 21 cm / 8.3 in.
