This is my new amigurumi crochet wolf. Willy the Wolf was designed for Amigurumi Nordic Forest CAL 2021 that is just about to end. It was the third and last animal of the crochet along.
The photos however, were taken in February when I was preparing the designs. We had beautiful snow this winter and my woolen wolf fitted in just perfectly. I´ve been desperately waiting to share these beautiful pics with you.
We made all CAL animals with merino wool (discover Marty the Moose and Bubo the Owl too). This version of the amigurumi wolf is crocheted with mixtures of wool and alpaca. Can you spot the difference? The wool is a bit rougher and hairier, and I love it! But of course merino is more skin friendly and kid friendly, can`t argue with that.
I like to use pieces of our old garments on toys. This wolf has patches of my daughter`s blouse she wore as a baby. Sweet memories!
I have used a couple of interesting techniques on this wolf. The first one is crocheting with two colors at once (on the head and muzzle). But also brushing. Check out the ears and tail. They look great, don`t they. Find a video tutorial in my YouTube channel.
