Meet my new amigurumi Carrot-pants bunny!
Perhaps you`ve noticed in my recent posts here and in social media that there is a new Estonian book coming. I´ve worked on this since 2021 and have secretly designed over 20 new toys. I promised to start releasing them as PDF patterns in English, and well, this one is the first one.
Maybe you want to ask “Lilleliis, you have made tens of bunnies, why is this one special?”.
Here`s the answer. With this bunny I was searching for a different shape. The head is not round as usual, instead it has a completely different angular shape starting with the foundation chain on top of the head. This can be something new and fun for you to try out.
Also, I don`t have much toys with removable clothes. I´ve tried to fix that with my newer designs for this book.
Those tweed overalls are super cute and can be used on dolls or other animals too.
For this new amigurumi bunny I used a super soft and hairy Cotton-Merino by Concept by Katia. It is 70% cotton, but it`s wool that gives it a lovely hairy texture. The bunny has a super soft and cozy feel.
Some of my first attempts were made with merino wool and one of the pattern testers made it with cotton, so other yarns work as well.
I put a lot of effort in creating these cute overalls. I wanted them to be special so I added a lovely ruffled collar and a pocket embellished with a carrot. My first pants were decorated with a carrot button, but I discovered they were so hard to find i stores. So I decided it`s better to embroider the carrot and I think it was a good idea. Now the pants look evern sweeter.
The overalls are worked with tweed yarn. You can choose cotton as well, but believe me, tweed yarn gives character you won`t achieve with cotton.
The pattern of this bunny is in intermediate skill level.
It`s written on 27 pages and includes over 70 step-by-step photos. Also there is a link to a video tutorial for embroidering the eyes.
If you decide to try the pattern then you will be instructed step-by-step to complete your own cute Carrot-pants Bunny!
