This is Sleepy owl from the book Cuddly Amigurumi Toys. Currently the pattern is available only in the book, however, I will soon start photographing the pattern, so in the near future you can buy an online version of Sleepy owl.
I waited for so long to make this owl again. I had totally forgotten how amazing the design actually is. I love the soft pillow shape, the multicolored body, and those expressive sleepy eyes. After so many years, it felt as if me and the owl were strangers. As if it wasn`t me who designed this awesome cuddly animal. I was following my own pattern without remembering how it felt to make it. I´m not sure if you understand the mixed feelings I´m having.
I tried a new color combination: forest green and mint green mixed with mustard and beige. Lovely! I`ve still got quite many skeins of Drops Paris bought years ago, so making the owl was a great project to use the yarn leftovers. It isn`t my favorite yarn, but it works so well for this toy. I will be making more of them.

Thank you so much for sharing your story! I’m eager to find out when this sleepy owl will be available. I bought the pink – mintgreen owl for my niece who was born over 2 years ago. My second niece got born today :) and I’d love to give her this owl.
Our mother collected owls when she was still alive so owls have a special meaning to us.
This owl, the color, the fabric, the babyproof-ish, the look is completly our taste (my brothers, his girlfriend and mine). I’d love to give this owl to my baby niece and I was actually hoping for these colours so this is perfect :).
