Crochet pony from “Cuddly Amigurumi Toys”

This customized amigurumi pony is freshly finished following a photo sent by a client. I used Starry-eyed Sara pattern from “Cuddly Amigurumi Toys”. She didn`t want me to add the saddle and halter, but requested those specific white marks on the face and leg.

The horse on the photo had the mane in the same color as the body. First I thought this won`t work on a toy, but then I got an idea to unravel the yarn strips and thereby give the mane and tail a little different texture. I think it looks good now.

I used pure merino wool (Lana Gatto Nuovo Irlanda) for this pony. It`s one of my favourites, because of the incredible softness. It`s very enjoyable to work with, the only minus though is the price… But you won`t find that lovely golden brown color on many other brands, so sometimes it`s simply worth it!
